Perform instant, accurate sound measurements in any environment using this portable digital sound meterThe Handheld Digital Sound Meter is equipped with a high-precision microphone that provides accurate decibel readings. The IP54 rating offers resistance against dust and water, making it suitable for use in various environments. Its compact (2x6.4x1.1in / 50x162.6x29.2mm) and lightweight (0.4lb / 190g) design makes it easy to carry and use in a variety of locations.Precision and AccuracyThis portable noise reader is capable of precise readings with a range of 30 to 130dBA, accuracy of +/- 1.5dB, and a resolution of 0.1dB.With the press of a button, switch between minimum and maximum readings. Additionally, choose between fast (1/8s) and slow (1s) readings based on needs. Fast readings capture moment-to-moment changes for dynamic environments, while slow readings provide more stable measurements for overall noise level analysis.User-Friendly DisplayThe portable audio level monitor features an easy-to-read LCD with large fonts for quick, at-a-glance readings, and optional backlight for visibility in low-light conditions. The on-screen battery indicator keeps the user informed, while the five-minute auto-off feature maximizes battery life. The data hold button enables to keep the last reading on the screen for reference.Versatile ApplicationsThe decibel meter is ideal for monitoring server rooms, data centers, office environments, and equipment testing. It provides real-time data to verify the noise and loudness conditions of an area or equipment.Portability and DurabilityMade of durable ABS plastic, the sound meter is lightweight, compact, and convenient to transport. The non-slip design ensures a secure grip, making it ideal for on-the-go measurements in a variety of work environments. The decibel meter features large well-spaced buttons, making it easy to operate even while wearing gloves. This design ensures that users can accurately and comfortably measure sound levels including in environments where protective gear is necessary. The StarTech.com Advantage
Spectrophotometer is a color measurement tool used by graphic arts professionals who require a high level of color accuracy and consistency. A spectrophotometer uses a fixed light source and sensor to measure the amount of light that is reflected by the inks and media surface. To maintain the highest level of accuracy, the light source’s wavelength is set to a known reference point and then a standard color, such as white, is first scanned to calibrate the sensor. A spectrophotometer is able to measure light across the entire visible spectrum and capture the complete range of spectral and reflective characteristics for each color on a printed reference chart (aka patches). This capability makes it the ideal tool for gathering the data needed in color-critical environments where objective color accuracy is required. What is the Role of a Spectrophotometer in Color Management? Color management in a graphic arts environment is accomplished via a profiling process whereby each type of print media used in the operation is imaged with a reference chart of color patches and then scanned by a spectrophotometer to measure the color values that result. These color values can then be used to make the adjustments needed to achieve the desired state of accurate and consistent color reproduction. When the spectrophotometer’s scan operation is completed, specialized software then analyzes the data and compares the results to a set of standard values. The variance between the measured and standard values can then be used to generate a target profile for each device and media type used in the operation. In addition to the variance values, the profile-generation software also takes into account the physical characteristics of the media as well as the color gamut of the inks.
